Carbon Footprint
At BSI we are always looking at ways to help and better the Earth. In this webpage you will find a message from out President, Brooke Eady, talking about the future of BSI and how the company will be making more low carbon choices.
We will also be talking about our climate approach and each of the five ways we will try to reduce carbon onsite and off-site. There will also be a section about our progress since first lowering our carbon emissions.
Each of these sections will show you our stance on lowering carbon emissions and why we think the Earth should be protected for future generations.

Our Climate Approach
Reducing Carbon at Work
Ex. Turning lights off at the end of the workday.
Reducing Carbon Transportation
Ex. Waiting for multiple equipment to be done in the same area before sending back to head office.
Encouraging Remote Production
Ex. Having employees work hybrid, reducing unnecessary travel.
Discouraging Single Use Plastics
Ex. Encouraging employees to use at work cups or reusable water bottles instead of single use plastics.
Reducing Onsite Carbon Transportation
Ex. Encouraging electric vehicles when applicable.
Progress
Here at BSI, we are taking steps toward looking first at carbon free solutions and encouraging them when necessary. In 2024 we started using Greenly to map out where our highest number of CO2 emissions were and how to improve on it.
In looking towards the future, we plan on working on our action plans, such as training staff on recognizing solutions that will use less carbon emissions. This includes solutions when sending equipment and for business travels.
Trees4Travel
Since May of 2024 BSI has been using Trees4Travel, who fights carbon impact by planting trees. From working with their projects, we have helped plant over 2,000 trees and reduced over 330,00 kg CO2. Currently BSI has helped in Jodhipur (Nepal Reforestation), Mozambique, Marereni & Kurawam, Kenya, and Madagascar.
