BURLINGTON, ON –June 2017 – On May 9th, 2017 The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) brought the best in the business together for the 38th Annual Sports Emmy Awards. Jim, Locke, and Shea Eady were each awarded Outstanding Technical Team Remote Emmy’s for their work with NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad from Rio de Janerio.
These awards bring the total to 21 Emmy’s brought home to Broadcast Services International. Two of the Emmys have been prestigious George Wensel Technical Achievement Awards for Innovation in High Definition Television. “Rio was my 20th Olympic Games, and to mark that with another Emmy, is a true honour” – Jim Eady. The BSI team is thankful for the opportunity to work with NBC Sports Group to help make the Olympics broadcast the best that it can be. Less than one year since they returned home from Rio de Janerio, the work began for the Korea Olympics, and the team is in full gear with preparations. The BSI Team spend months planning, building, and working to make the Olympics spectacular, the ability to help spread the Games across the world, is a highlight in their careers.
